Rhode Island is implementing rewards for environmentally friendly builders, FIFIA World cup announced new sponsorship and technical deal and Binance is co-investing $500 million into Musk’s Twitter.

Rewards in Rhode Island

The environmental protection is a big thing. Now, government in Rhode Island is trying to support this change to be more environmentally friendly with the help of crypto. In Rhode Island’s House of Representatives has been proposed a bill, which specifically tackles this problem. If the house builder would be able to reduce the project’s carbon footprint, he would be credited by “green coin” cryptocurrency. This project is backed by donations from local private banks with about $500 million and from Green housing fund with about $125 million.

FIFA World Cup has a new sponsor

Company Algorand, which is the proof-of-stake blockchain provider, has partnered with FIFA. In this case Algorand is not only a sponsor, but also a technical partner who will help FIFA with integration of their blockchain. It will also help FIFA with their development of a digital asset’s strategy and it will provide an official wallet solution. The news about the deal were announced on Monday alongside with information that Algorand will also become a regional supporter in North America and Europe for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Binance is co-investing into Twitter

Two weeks ago surfaced news about Elon Musk and his acquisition of Twitter for $44 billion. Now with being new CEO of Twitter, Musk released a general statement of the acquisition. In this document is stated the Binance is among 18 companies which are co-investors in the acquisition. Some of these companies are major crypto industry players like Sequoia Capital Fund and Fidelity Management and Research Company. With their $500 million investment, Binance is the fourth biggest contributor. The number one is taken by the Lawrence J. Ellison Revocable Trust, which invested $1 billion.
