Another partnership in the NBA, Belgium MP and BTC, Apple stocks jumped and Russia is considering banning crypto.

Another major partnership

We have already informed you that NBA is making a huge partnership with crypto exchanges regarding naming rights and sponsorships. Now, one specific NBA star made its own partnership with online exchange Crypto.com. That star is none other than three-time NBA champion and Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James. On Friday, James announced that he is partnering with Crypto.com to “support educational and workforce development opportunities focused on Web3”. More specifically it will help with learning and teaching 1 600 kids which are attending schools in his hometown Akron, in Ohio.

“Blockchain technology is revolutionizing our economy, sports and entertainment, the art world, and how we engage with one another. I want to ensure that communities like the one I come from are not left behind”, James stated.

Kids will get to learn about the chance of choosing a career in that area. They will have a chance to discuss it with experts from Crypto.com.

First European politician will get paid in BTC

Many politicians in USA are already making moves to be able to receive paychecks in crypto and some are already doing it, like New York City Mayor Eric Adams or The Mayor of Miami Francis Suarez. Now the first politician from the EU will be accepting his salary in BTC. We are talking about Brussels Member of Parliament Christophe De Beukelaer. He is the first European politician to convert his salary to Bitcoin. His salary, 5,500 EUR, will be converted to BTC by using the most used cryptocurrency trading platform in Belgium, Bit4You. According to his words, he is following already mentioned New York City Mayor Eric Adams, as he also wants to make Brussels and Belgium a leading country in the cryptocurrency industry.

Apple into Metaverse

In the history, we have already experienced that the mere mention of something new can make big moves on the stock market. Now something similar happened to Apple and its stock. On earning call regarding apples Q1 2022, the CEO Tim Cook, mentioned that he sees significant potential in the Metaverse Space. Even though it was one of the things mentioned on the call, the AAPL jumped up by 8%. So far it is only a mention but it for sure is a happy mention.

Russia and its regulation against BTC

In the last few days, some news surfaced that the Russian central bank is proposing complete ban on using crypto throughout Russia. The Russian Finance Ministry official Ivan Chebeskov has opposed said ban, showing support of regulating crypto rather than banning it. He also stated that possible ban would lead Russia to be lagging behind the worldwide tech industry. So, instead of making the hard ban, he proposed regulation of crypto. Since then, nothing new surfaced as Chebeskov is still waiting to hear the government’s position on the matter.
