New mining chip by Intel

Intel, a titan who is known for manufacturing semiconductors, announced on Monday their new Bitcoin mining chip called Blockscale. This chip is specifically designated to be able to operate on proof-of-work blockchains. According to Intel, it should have a hash rate of up to 580 gigahash per second, which is 0.58 terahash per second. Also it will consume between 4.8 to 22.7 watts of power, and having an energy efficiency of up to 26 joules per terahash. And as a final touch, these chips can be combined into one mining unit.

Miami bull unveiled

During the week, The Bitcoin 2022 conference has been going on in Miami. To mark the opening of the conference, the mayor of Miami Francis Suarez unveiled Miami’s answer to Charging Bull which is famous statue representing Wall Street. The statue portraits laser eyed bull, which is supposed to be symbol of Miami as a new world’s capital of crypto. The statue itself is 1 360 kg bull made in robotic theme. The bull already got attention of some big names in crypto, for example the CEO of Binance Changpeng “CZ” Zhao tweeted that the bull is “pretty cool.”

UFC fighters will get bonuses in BTC

In the past several months, many deals were closed between some sport franchise or club and mainly some crypto exchange. Now, another huge sport organization joined the deal making. The UFC joined the club when they announced that fighters fighting under this organization will be receiving their fan bonuses in Bitcoin. The UFC is able to do that because of their deal with Crypto.com.

But there are some rules to this deal. The bonuses will be only paid out to top 3 fighters of the pay-per-view event. The rewards or bonuses will be in range from $10,000 to $30,000. The fans will be able to decide who will get the money through vote, which will take place on the official Crypto.com website on the day of the event.

Kraken is shutting down global headquarters

San Francisco has lost its safety and now that is the cause for companies to move out of the city. One of these companies is Bitcoin and cryptocurrency exchange Kraken. Its CEO Jesse Powell announced on his twitter that company is shutting down their global headquarters, which is located on 548 Market Street, in the center of San Francisco. The reason for this move was that many of their employees were attacked, harassed and robbed on their way to and from the office. Also the Kraken team stated that crime in San Francisco is dramatically underreported.
