Miami and their plans with BTC, Doctors Without Borders using blockchain and Bitfarms expansion.

Miami will hand out free Bitcoin to residents

The news about Miami being new crypto hub in USA is not something new. The mayor of Miami, Francis Suarez, is one of the most progressive people in politics in America if we talk about implementing laws about cryptocurrencies. As a mayor of Miami he created their own coin called MiamiCoin. According to Coingecko it is worth around $0.02. Also, he announced that he will be receiving his paychecks in Bitcoin. The mayor of New York City Eric Adams joined him in this decision,

Now Suarez announced that they are planning on giving people of Miami dividends from stacking their MiamiCoin. Stacking has so far generated $21 million for the city. So, Suarez is planning on creating digital wallets for people of Miami and giving Bitcoin right from the yield of MiamiCoin.

Doctors Without Borders and blockchain

Doctors without borders (DWB) is organization that provides help to provide help to people and nations in distress, to victims of natural or man-made disasters and to victims of armed conflict. They are doing so regardless of race, religion or political convictions. Now DWB announced partnership with Blockchain documentation service Transcrypts. On Thursday DWB announced that this partnership started on October 14th. Since then they have already uploaded 6500 immunization records to the blockchain. And they are planning on reaching 76000 immunization records by 2022.

Most of the records are COVID-19 vaccines, but they are planning on uploading and storing all patient medical records on the blockchain. There they can and will be accessible from a patient’s phone.

Bitfarms expanding to US, green crypto mining

Maybe some of you already heard about Canadian Bitcoin mining company Bitfarms. This company works as a blockchain technology company. The Bitfarms is providing computing power to cryptocurrency networks such as Bitcoin, Bitcoin-Cash, Ethereum and Litecoin. Bitfarms is serving clients all around the globe.

Bitfarms bought a land plot in Washington State and they are planning to build its first data center in the United States there. On Thursday Bitfarms announced they are aiming to establish mining operations in the U.S. which is capable of 620 petahashes per second using 6,200 Bitmain rigs, that are fully powered by hydroelectric energy. They already bought a 24 megawatt hydro power farm in Washington for $26 million. But they are looking for expansion to 99 MW by creating and building other farms in the area.
