What is Band Protocol? (in 60 seconds)

Band Protocol (BAND) is a decentralized oracle network, similar to Chainlink, that uses delegated proof of stake (“dPoS”) consensus mechanism. In short, no one owns it (decentralized), and it works as a middleman (oracle) between blockchains and real world data.

Blockchains inherently cannot access outside data, and Band is the cutting edge technology to fulfill this void. Band bridges data from top data inputs (stakers) automatically, a key difference between chainlink which requires specification of external data inputs.
