Crypto Space Commander: A Blockchain Game — The Journey Begins
This is the first in a series of blogs detailing the development, thoughts, and ideas we’ll explore throughout our journey of creating Crypto Space Commander.
We’ll start with a quick background on who we are. Lucid Sight is comprised of seasoned game industry veterans bringing years of top-level talent to the blockchain gaming industry. Founded in 2015 by Randy Saaf, Octavio Herrera, and myself (Fazri Zubair), we’ve focused on creating innovative games and apps for emerging technologies.
Early last year, the inherent qualities of the Ethereum blockchain caught our eye as a development platform. We immediately realized how Ethereum blockchain technology could be used to improve the gaming experience for players and made the decision to tackle this new space.
Crypto Space Commander is a big game and we have the experience, drive, and desire to build it. Now, after several months of intense design and tech development, we’re ready to bring CSC into the light and build a game that we’re confident the dApp gaming community will enjoy.
One of the key aspects of CSC is our approach to developing the game which stems from our pedigree as an established game studio. Because we already have the ability to make the game, we aren’t trying to develop a new blockchain (or side-chain), and we don’t need to roll out some new technology. Instead, we’re using developed and tested technologies to support the game both on-chain and off-chain while focusing on making a fun and immersive blockchain gaming experience.
CSC is developed with the Unity engine and will launch cross-platform, allowing for mobile, web, and PC play. CSC uses a 100% blockchain-secured economy where all valued assets will be created, tracked, and traded as non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Utilizing modern game development techniques, we’ll create an MMO environment for players to explore solo or with friends in real time. Quests, discovery, and crafting adds depth that makes for an ongoing gaming experience.
CSC will be unlike any other space MMO that currently exists — we’re not only giving players control over the game’s world but the economics behind the game that make it grow and flourish.
