Attention Commanders!

The Galactic Federation has a few URGENT updates that are crucial to your survival and business ventures in the universe. Be sure to read the NOTICES below.

The Drone Infestation / Biohexium Shortage
We have detected an increase in drops from all drones in Core and Fringe space. We estimate now the chance of a Drone jettisoning cargo before destruction has climbed to 50%! Recovering precious Biohexium is KEY to the successful manufacturing of ships and other equipment for the Galactic Federation. We encourage all Commanders to seek and claim this BioHexium as we don’t know how long this windfall will last! Fly Safe.

Workshop & Manufacturing Facilities are going PUBLIC
GFI has seen unprecedented demand for all our public facilities. We are unable to meet that demand so we have authorized the sale of facilities to Commanders looking to establish themselves as facility owners. The first set of facility access cards will be released on 3/31 at 22:00 CSC Time.

In addition to the release of Public workshops and manufacturing facilities, GFI has change how jobs are billed for both facility types. Jobs are now charged PER hour instead of a flat rate. The following are the rate changes that have gone into effect at all GFI Owned public facilities. For most commanders, they will mean significantly lower costs for manufacturing or refining. For those who are doing larger quantities/bulk production, this change will cause them a higher cost. The objective of this change is to better align facility usage/demand with the appropriate costs.

Mining Stations: 2115 GRP Flat -> 300 GRP an Hour
Trade Station: 1250 GRP Flat -> 150 GRP an Hour
Refinery Stations: 5250 GRP Flat -> 550 GRP an Hour

In regards to public facilities, the Galactic Federation has approved a limited amount of access cards for Manufacturing and Workshops. The quantities and prices are listed below and are based on station type. Access cards are FULLY tradable among Commanders,

Key Points:

  • Station Facility Ownership is controlled by an Access Card (NFT Item). The Card MUST be in station inventory to modify facility settings. If the card is checkout and moved to an address that does not have a user account associated with it the revenue will go to GFI.
  • Station Facilities are FINITE! This means there is a limit to the number of facilities a station can have. For this reason, prices for public facilities at high traffic stations will be higher than lower traffic stations.
  • The FIRST station Workshop & Manufacturing on stations that don’t have existing facilities will start with a 5 job capacity. Future facilities will start with 1 job capacity and will be priced in line with other stations. We don’t expect to enable these stations till post 1.0 release.
  • GFI Home Station and Proxima Prime public facilities will start with a 5 job capacity.
  • Player-owned stations will get the ability to increase max public facilities in the future via gameplay mechanics.
  • Public Facilities DON’T NEED to be public. This means a commander can purchase these stations and limit it just for there own personal use. (Future updates will allow for Clan permission for public stations)
  • Station Facilities Fees are paid at the end of a job, meaning the owner of the card owner at the conclusion of the job will receive the resource and currency fees.
  • Future updates to our facility interface will also allow Commanders to upgrade Facilities to add more concurrent job slots, promote their facility higher on the listings, and increase facility efficiency.
  • All public facilities SOLD will have an initial Job capacity listed by the station. This capacity ONLY applies to public use, when it is in private mode a Commander can only do ONE job at a time per facility.
  • Workshops REQUIRE Commanders to provide the modules to make them function. Modules placed in the Public Workshops are transferred to the workshop, the owner of the access card (when in station inventory) can remove those modules.
  • Rift Station, ZarRK Bar, and Fool’s Stronghold will not get Public Facilities at this time.

Refinery Stations: These stations specialize in resource processing and component creation. Typically provide the best yields for workshops.

Mining Stations: These stations can be typically found near resource belts and have decent processing and component creation facilities. Typically provide the good yields for workshops.

General / Trading Stations: These stations can be found across the universe typically in Core space. They have facilities to accommodate all types of trade and manufacturing but don’t specialize in any type. Typically provide the standard yields for workshops & have a few manufacturing facilities available.

Factory Stations: Only one of these stations has been constructed so far but it’s expected to be a boon for all Commanders in Core space. This station type will have ample workshops and manufacturing facilities for the entrepreneurial Commanders. There are no GFI owned workshops & only a few GFI manufacturing facilities online.

Food / Research Stations / Luxury Manufacturing Stations: These stations are specialized for future use by GFI and Commanders. Currently, they have the same facility setups as standard stations.

Unknown Stations: Not much is known about these stations, Commanders should be cautious in their dealings at these locations if they come across them.

How To Buy Station Facilities:

  1. Visit the station you are interested in owning a facility. YOU MUST BE AT THE STATION and DOCKED.
  2. Go to either the manufacturing screen or the workshop screen.
  3. If Public Facilities are available you will see the buy option on the bottom right.
  4. If you see nothing there these means either facilities are sold out or the sale has not begun.
  5. Once purchased you can adjust the Charge amount and currency, and chose to make the Facility public or not.
  6. Sale Start Tuesday 3/31/2020 at 22:00
