Interview with the MOS team
Today, I have interviewed Aleksandar Ribak, CMO of MOS, on their ICO and future projects. MOS Lottery is a zero-fraud blockchain based lottery platform that picks the winning numbers from Stock Markets like NYSE and NASDAQ. MOS is listed to organize a token sale in Q2–2018.
1) What problem are you solving, why do you need the blockchain technology and what are the main pillars that define your company and differentiate you from your competitors?
We created MOS to stop cheating in the crypto world and especially in lotteries that are not transparent or allow organizers to deceive players. In Serbia for instance, where I stayed for some time, the winning numbers were once showed on the TV screen BEFORE they were actually drawn. There are many ongoing lottery scams in the world, but nothing is visible such as technical stock trading.
I know that this might be seen as an apostasy in the financial world. But most technical stock traders are nothing but gamblers. We develop the Stock Market Lottery to give them the proper game that is more honest and has a bigger upside potential. They can finally be free to gamble and be who they truly are.
2) What value are you adding to your industry value chain and which are the main obstacles to the success of your solution?
Aside from spreading the obvious truths, we add a fun game that people would be able to play with insignificant amounts of money and limit loses they would have by playing other games such as poker or Russian roulette. Also, the fact they do not have to buy a ticket from a person on the street but do it online in the convenience of their homes, or while riding the bus home, is a very positive one for many lottery/casino players. Because the investment is small, playing can be legally anonymous, like most lotteries in the world.
Aside from our global launch, we also hope to find a legally compliant way for as many technical traders from NYSE, NASDAQ and FTSE to play our game.
With regards to the industry value chain — well, if you see the blockchain industry as a separate field then we must say we add the following benefits:
- Additional transparency and German integrity
- Another game that is disrupting other non-blockchain solutions
- Bringing more fiat into blockchain assets
With regards to the casino and lottery industry in general we are adding the benefit of integrating our game with other complementary games that will help us get to the right players so that everyone gets the game they deserve. Less than 30% of players of every game make the bulk of its profitability so the sooner we get to the right players the better will be for all. We should encourage people to try different games.
3) Why did you decide to launch an ICO and why do you need a public Token Sale?
The public Token Sale aside from getting additional players and users of our MOS network that will grow the value of MOS tokens over time, is to raise a lot of money for the Jackpot. As you can see, almost all of the money from sales are predicted to go into Jackpots that are given back to players while the remaining is invested in marketing to get more players onto our platform so that we can increase both the Jackpots and the value of MOS Tokens over time.
4) How does your token function within the platform and why is it needed? How did you decide the total supply and distribution among stakeholders?
Being a blockchain lottery the token is needed to run our system. The total supply and distribution was decided in mutual harmonic accord by team members and by flipping some coins, watching the stars and doing some Feng shui in Asia.
5) Where do you see the value of your token in the medium to long term and the ultimate benefit for the token holders?
We cannot speculate about the future. If we get enough money for marketing we are sure to grow the network with more loyal players who like both, the stock markets and the lottery and that should increase the value of the MOS Tokens over time. Remember, our MOS Tokens are used to buy MOS tickets while at the same time, all fiat and crypto assets are converted to MOS during the purchasing of the tokens.
6) Thinking about the future, what are your plans after ending the ICO? Are you afraid that the volatility of the cryptocurrency market might affect the economy of your project in any way?
When times are uncertain, and many lose money, gambling increases both in size and frequency. The main reason is that the diminishing return makes people take bigger risks to recover what they have already lost — until they lose it all, so they can start earning again in their jobs. There was a term about that in academia I heard on my Ph.D., but it was a stupid one, so I forgot it. However, we see general crypto market swings positively, even if they are negative.
