It’s 2021 and the last few months have been a wild ride in the crypto world! We here at CryptoAssault are excited about all the new developments going on and have been working diligently in the background to help bring new features into the spotlight and wanted to share some of the latest updates and some of the roadmap in the coming months.

Warchests

Stake Uniswap LP Tokens to earn more ASLT!

Recently, CryptoAssault entered into the defi space with ASLT token. All players can deposit into Uniswap pools in order to participate in staking rewards. Details can be found in the updated whitepaper here.

Forward Bases and Research Trees

Forward bases are CryptoAssault’s take on land ownership. While players fight for territory on the main island, it has always been a temporary holding, nobody truly owns that land.

With the launch of forward bases, this changes. Brand new islands will be included in the world map that can only be reached by ocean transport. These islands are smaller than the main island and will be represented by player-owned ERC-721 tokens.

The most important part is that while forward bases can be captured by any player similar to territory in the main island, the player that owns the island will always get a cut of earnings and resources mined as well as control research and development on it.

Forward bases are crucial to the new tech tree features in CryptoAssault. Upgrades to forward bases are permanent and persistent even if ownership changes. Owning forward bases and upgrading them is a way players can improve the value of their assets through play. Bonuses associated with forward bases are shared by the owner of the base as well as the player that controls the territory. Therefore, highly developed bases will be attractive targets to take over even if you down own any bases yourself!

Unit Skins

Active players in CryptoAssault know that skins have been a common request in the community. We are pleased to announce that skins have almost arrived! Pretty soon you will be able to customize your units with a variety of looks and of course like the rest of your in-game assets, these will be minted on the blockchain.

CryptoAssault Governance

Moving forward we are planning to streamline the process by which new features are implemented. ASLT will include governance functions and snapshot voting will be utilized in order to determine which features are prioritized by the community. CryptoAssault has always been about community participation in its development and the new governance process aims to formalize this ethos.

Upcoming Airdrops

In order to reward loyal players who has contributed to the ASLT economy, we will be performing an airdrop within the next month. Participants in Warchests will receive skin tokens which can be exchanged for skin crates once the feature launches.

In addition, we will be holding a referral contest for the discord channel. More details will be released closer to the date of the promotion but this is a way for anyone to earn skin tokens regardless of participation in Warchests.

In addition, once forward bases are closer to launch, loyal players with a history of genesis unit ownership will also be the first to receive them. These players will get free forward bases before the public sale and get a head start in research. The only requirement is to be a holder of at least one CryptoAssault unit!

End of Genesis Unit Sales

As we shift into the next phase of CryptoAssault’s development, we will be removing genesis units from sale. You may have noticed a timer has appeared on the website which signals the countdown for the long-awaited end of genesis unit sales. Once the sale ends, the only way to get genesis units in the future will be to buy them in the secondary market.

Final Thoughts

With ETH close to all-time highs and gas fees higher than ever, we know that there have been challenges in maintaining market activity. While Matic integration has been a step in the right direction, we are still working hard with other partners as well and will soon share plans to greatly reduce the fee burden further for a smoother user experience.
