CryptoBeasties Development Update, January 2019
Our team has been working hard creating artwork and game assets and building the alpha version of the game. We have made some great progress, but we still have a ways to go.
We’re pushing to get a playable alpha version ready by the end of February. But we want to make the game smooth, spectacular, and bug-free, so we’re not going to cut corners. If we need to change the alpha date, we’ll let you know within the next couple weeks.
Here are some of the development highlights so far:
3D Models. We have completed the 3D models for all 54 of the characters in Card Series 1! The artists have done spectacular work and really captured the spirit of the card illustrations. We’re very excited to get these Beasties animated and battling in 3D!
New card designs. We’re getting our artists started on new designs for two more Phenomenal cards, plus 20 new characters for Card Series 2. We’d like to release Series 2 around the same time that the game alpha goes live. We’ll keep you posted!
Beasties in Decentraland. Many of the 3D models are now working and animating in the new 5.0 version of the Decentraland SDK. The Decentraland version of the game will release after the first PC-based game alpha, but we’re getting a head start on it, and putting the new SDK through its paces. So far, so good!
CryptoBeasties on OpenSea. Meanwhile, there’s always some action in the CryptoBeasties storefront on OpenSea, where quite a few Rare, Epic, and Legendary cards and bundled collections have been posted. If you’d like to pick up some Beastie cards now, OpenSea is the place!
That’s enough to keep us busy for the next month or two, I’d say. We’re working hard to make 2019 the Year of the Beasties, and we really appreciate your support.
