Nvidia is refocusing its efforts on assisting in the creation of an industrial Metaverse that will enable businesses to fully utilize the technology.

The Internet as we know it is made up of countless trillions of HTML pages, many of which are continuously updated. Imagine the internet today if it were all interactive and 3D. The Metaverse is that.

Nvidia’s CEO, Jensen Huang, gave a keynote address at a recent GTC and shared some information about the company’s metaverse initiatives. According to Huang, the Metaverse will be a shared, persistent digital environment where people can interact and meet just like they do in the real world.

According to Nvidia, the Metaverse represents the next step in Internet development. It’s a 3D Internet designed to link various virtual worlds that can be viewed in web browsers and described in USD.

The Omniverse Cloud, a SaaS product that makes use of Geforce Now technology, was just released by Nvidia. Low latency 3D streaming across devices in precisely 100 nations is one of the features it offers.

Companies can now benefit from a number of Omniverse features, such as AI and physics simulation, without the need for a potent edge device thanks to 3D workflows. The Omniverse Cloud is already utilized by organizations like Siemens and the RIMAC Group.

The Effects it Would Have in the Near Future

What effects will being able to interact with 3D objects have in the future? We won’t all be able to spend our free time in a 3D world thanks to this technology, though. Instead, it will enable 3D interaction with our Internet-connected devices. And that has the potential to alter the course of events.

In a secure setting, robotics experts will be able to simulate and test intelligent machines. Real-world data can be used by AI to enhance our products and services. This technology has countless potential applications.

Nvidia’s New Hardware

The biggest manufacturer of graphics cards in the world also displayed its most recent hardware in addition to software updates. Because Omniverse is a new platform, it needs a new computing system and platform to function.

Three components make up the new system Nvidia unveiled:

  1. Computers for design with RTX
  2. OVX servers are used to run online simulations.
  3. A gateway to the Omniverse is the Graphics Delivery Network.

Huang demonstrated a few applications of Omniverse during the keynote. For instance, the framework Heavy.ai enables the creation of digital twins by telecommunications companies. Companies will be able to more easily plan and build their networks using the system in a controlled 3D environment.

Designers and creators were considered when designing the RTX computers. They are capable of real-time 3D model viewing and editing.

They also demonstrated how the first national-scale digital twin is being developed by Digital Rail Germany. The DRG will be able to simulate train operations across the nation and optimize infrastructure thanks to the digital twin.
