What You’ll Learn: In this session, you’ll learn about building apps without smart contracts. You will learn how to use blockchains to build a lightweight, inexpensive app experience.

Your Teacher: Jerry Qian has been in Bitcoin since 2013, co-founding Bitcoin Bay, Toronto’s premier Bitcoin and blockchain focused meetup. Jerry leads the Bitcoin Bay technical team, working on a variety of outbound and internal blockchain apps.

New C4 Video ReleaseMonday, October 26th

  • 9AM CDT — Visualizing Proof of Work Algorithms with Microprocessors with Josh McIntyre

What You’ll Learn: The proof-of-work algorithm is at the core of Bitcoin’s security model, allowing consensus without the need to trust an intermediary. Every Bitcoin user can benefit from understanding proof-of-work, but the underlying mechanisms including cryptographic hashes, binary numbers, and probability can be difficult to understand. You’ll learn the computation and economics behind proof-of-work, and how difficulty affects proof-of-work.

Your Teacher: Josh McIntyre is an avid learner and explainer, especially when it comes to cryptocurrency topics. He is employed full time at Microsoft, and he runs a website called chaintuts, which provides articles, videos, and code projects that break down core cryptocurrency concepts.

C4 is looking forward to continuing to help you in your journey of cryptocurrency and blockchain education. Learn more about our non-profit’s efforts on our website.
