Axie Infinity takes DApp gaming to new heights, introducing Lunacia!

What is Axie Infinity

At the surface Axie Infinity is a geeky mixture of Pokémon and Tamagotchi, so if you were a 90’s kid you will feel right at home! If we scratch the surface we will enter a world inhabited by magical fantasy creatures called Axies.

Axies come in all shapes and forms, but they all bring something to the table. Your job is to manage these creatures, and the two main activities so far has been breeding and battling, the activities are interlinked though! Because you need to battle in order to get EXP enough to breed your Axies.

The type and look of the Axie will be determined by the genes inherited from its parents, and no two Axies are alike! In addition to breeding, you can acquire Axies from the marketplace, where other players sell theirs!

So What’s New?

So what’s all the fuzz about Lunacia… It is a HUGE expansion to the Axie Universe, bringing in a ton of new gameplay! So at the base of this update you will find the new enchanting world of Lunacia. This world is made of tokenized land plots that players can buy, trade and develop! I will go in depth about the details of the Land Sale in the next segment.

Imagine an open world being built up by the community, the players decide if they want to host a shop, a dungeon, a farm, an inn or maybe something else entirely!
It will even be possible for tech savvy players to build their own minigames using the upcoming Axie Infinity SDK (alpha version within 3 months).

But you said there would be gameplay!

Yes! So all over the world of Lunacia, monsters and resources will spawn, ready for the taking! You will send out a team of three Axies, to either hunt Chimera’s to get cool loot or on a resource gathering mission.

You should choose your Axies wisely as some will be better at fighting and some at gathering. You choose a spot on the world map you want to send your Axies and they instantly teleport there. Now you will engage in real time PvE battles or other types of gameplay. Afterwards the Axies will start their journey home again, this might take a while as they have to walk all the way home! All the land plots that the Axies trek through will gain some resources, making it attractive to own land plots close to these hot spots!

What is the benefit of owning land plots?

You can charge other players to access the content on your land plot.
Axies drop resources to you when passing through your land
You have first rights to resources that spawn on your land plot
Probably much more!

Remember, the land plots will be tradable, so getting in early could be a good investment.

The Land Sale

As we can see in the Axie Infinity Lunacia Roadmap, there will be four phases of the Land Sale. One for each quarter of 2019, with the first phase starting 22nd of January!

So, how do you get Land Spots? You purchase chests!

You can use my link and get 10% value back in LUNA Tokens, and you also save 10% if you buy on day 1. If you buy on day 2, you save 9% and so forth, so get to it!

There are 4 different types of chests each corresponding to a type of type of land plot. In the table below you can see how much each chest costs. The more expensive the chest the closer to the middle your land plot will be! If you purchase multiple chests at the same time you are guaranteed that they the land plots will be connected, which will be very important for some constructions as they take up more space than is available on one plot! Additionally you can view connected plots together when playing!
Each chest will have a very low chance of being upgraded to a Genesis Land! The Genesis plots are positioned all along the edge of the middle square, making them the closest spots you can get to the center.

Other than the type of land, each chest will also give you 10 items, the better the chest the higher rarity of the items, as can be seen in the table above. There is even a chance of each item being upgraded to a higher rarity when opened!

The brand new LUNA Token

The LUNA token is the new utility token coming to Axie Infinity! It will be used for various things throughout the game, such as buying special items from shops around in Lunacia, but also to buy new Axies at the Axie Lab!

It will also be an important resource when it comes to upgrading the land plots as well as the Axies themselves.

Sounds good, how do I get some?

You will be able to gather it as a resource from special LUNA nodes, or when defeating Chimera bosses! But it can also be earned by creating content showcasing Axie Infinity. During the first phase of the Land Sale you will also get 10% of the value you spend back in LUNA tokens, when using this link!
