In my previous article, I brought you about ā€œHow to brand yourself on LinkedIn?ā€.

In this article, I would like to tell you about an educational opportunity you can grab as a student. From this golden opportunity, you are limitless to educate yourself with Top-level education.

Iā€™m going to tell you How can we get FREE access to Coursera courses only if you are not in a position to buy such valuable courses.

Coursera is a U.S.-based online course provider founded in 2012 by Stanford University computer science professors Andrew Ng and Daphne Koller. Coursera works with universities and other organizations to offer online courses, certifications, and degrees in a variety of subjects. In 2021 it was estimated that about 150 universities including University of Michigan, Yale University, University of Califonia, etc. and organizations including Google, Meta, IBM, etc. offered more than 4,000 courses through Coursera.

1. Coursera Financial aid

Coursera Financial aid is a Scholarship program offered by Coursera. If you canā€™t afford to pay for a Certificate, you can apply for Financial aid through the link on the course home page.

Learners with Financial Aid or Scholarships in a course will be able to access all of the course content and finally, after completing all work-required tests or quizzes they become eligible to earn the Course certificate. Financial aid only applies to the course that the application was approved for.

Most courses offer Financial aid, but this may not be available for specific courses. To receive Coursera Financial aid, youā€™ll need to:

  • Fill out an application that includes information about your educational background, career goals, and financial circumstances
  • Commit to abiding by Coursera Honor Code and Code of Conduct

2. How to apply for Coursera Financial aid?

You can apply for Coursera Financial aid only using Coursera website on a computer.

To apply for Financial aid:

  1. Using a computer, open the course description page you want to apply for Financial aid in.
  2. Click on ā€œFinancial aid availableā€, to continue with the application process.

3. Next, you will get this message with the information about the course you are going to apply, for Financial aid.

To continue, Click on ā€œContinue to the application ->ā€.

4. If you are going to apply for a Specialization, you have to apply for Financial aid for each individual course one by one.

So first, you have to select one course to apply for Financial aid. Click on ā€œNextā€ after selecting one course from the selected Specialization.

5. Fill out your application. Make sure your applicationā€™s ā€œReason you applied for aidā€ is over 150 words.

Also, make sure your applicationā€™s ā€œHow will your selected course help with your goalsā€ is over 150 words.

Then, Click on ā€œReviewā€ to submit your Financial aid application for review.

6. After submitting your Financial aid application for review, you will receive a confirmation email saying that ā€œFinancial Aid Application Receivedā€.

Wait for your application to be reviewed. While you wait for your application to be reviewed, you can begin the course immediately in audit mode. The review process may take up to 15 days.

7. When your application is reviewed, youā€™ll get an email letting you know whether itā€™s been approved or denied. You can also check your Updates page to see the status of your Financial Aid application.

If your application is approved, youā€™ll get an email letting you know, and youā€™ll be automatically enrolled in the course. Courses have personalized deadlines, so you wonā€™t need to worry about falling behind.

If you do not complete the course within 180 days, you may submit another application.

You will have 2 weeks to unenroll from the course from the time your application has been accepted.

3. How to audit a Coursera course?

You can also view most course materials for free using the audit mode. If you only need to audit a Coursera course, you should Click on ā€œEnrollā€.

Then, Click on ā€œAudit the courseā€ to start auditing the Coursera course.

Now, you know how to get access to the knowledge out there. So, itā€™s your time to select a course for you and invest time to learn and upgrade your knowledge with top-level education.
