ICO Investor Education Series (4 part series — PART 3)

When it comes to content and credibility, marketing firms aim on providing consumers with value and expertise thereby earning the trust factor. Due to changes in technology, one has the option of enabling ad blockers that effectively halts unwanted content dancing across our screens. So where does this leave the average marketing consultant?

What are ICO Influencers?

The term ico influencer evolved when marketing firms realized they needed to up their strategies concerning content distribution, absorption, and ROI within a newly emerging market segment — that of the ICO.

According to studies done through various parties, these firms discovered that, by and large, large groups of people all over the globe did not understand or could not explain the term blockchain, and the extent of their knowledge concerning cryptocurrency was that Bitcoin had made many a millionaire within the space of a few short months.

HSBC undertook a survey where 80% of all participants polled could not explain blockchain’s use as a digital ledger, and a further 59% had never heard of it altogether!

By the same token, an average 67% of the polled participants agreed that technology has the power to create a better world.

“I believe technology will make the world a better place.”

After putting 2 & 2 together, these firms came to the conclusion that in order to capture a greater segment of the market i.e. the less technically-minded, they needed to reach out to influential voices well-known within the crypto-sphere. These voices not only had extensive marketing knowledge and expertise, but had decided to target a specific niché — that of blockchain and cryptocurrency.
