I have seen a lot of community members asking questions on how and where they can swap their ERC-20 IOST tokens for the new mainnet IOST token, I have therefore decided to educate community members and holders of IOST tokens on how and where to go about this process.
Since the completion of the mainnet launch, IOST holders have been able to convert or buy the new mainnet tokens from various exchange that supports the IOST mainnet launch. For users who still hold the old ERC-20 IOST token there is a need to swap it to the new mainnet token but this can only be done on supported exchange.
According to the IOST team, it does not yet recognize or allow manual token swap so the only means of swaps is a supported exchange.
Token Swap is still an abstract concept for many non-technical users. Manual swapping is not only complicated but also risky. IOST has not yet officially launched a manual token swap scheme. Please avoid trying it, or any company claiming to provide such a service outside of the above-mentioned exchanges. IOST’s selected exchange partners are world-renowned, high-security global exchanges where users can use safely without any concerns.

These exchange are the only recognized means of swapping and getting the new IOST mainnet swap and all IOST tokens available on these exchange are already swapped to the mainnet tokens.
This is also to note that some of these exchange have different procedures for swapping your old ERC-20 IOST token to get the new mainnet IOST token.
Binance
To swap your ERC-20 IOST token to mainnet IOST token, all you have to do is to select deposit to your Ethereum address on Binance and then copy the Ethereum address. Please note that you can deposit your ERC-20 IOST token on the IOST deposit on Binance the IOST deposit on Binance is already configured to the new mainnet token so instead of an eth wallet address you can only see wallet name and a memo.
All ERC-20 coin can be deposited using the Ethereum address on Binance as a deposit address from any ERC-20 wallet you are transferring your ERC-20 IOST token from.
Kucoin
Kucoin just like Binance supports the deposit of any ERC-20 coin to the users Ethereum wallet.
So, all you have to do is deposit your old IOST ERC-20 token to your Ethereum address and it will be automatically swapped to the new IOST mainnet token.
Upbit
As the time of this write up, Upbit exchange has suspended withdrawal and deposit of IOST token, therefore you cannot swap IOST coin on Upbit exchange for now.
OKex
As the time of this write up, OKex has suspended withdrawal and deposit of IOST token, therefore you cannot swap IOST coin on OKex for now.
Huobi Global
Huobi Global has developed a very smooth way of swapping your ERC-20 IOST token to the new IOST mainnet token. All you have to do select the old erc-20 deposit.
BISS
Biss exchange also allows you to select the kind of IOST token you want to deposit.
When Will The Mainnet Token Swap End?
IOST has already started the Mainnet Token Swap, and it will be continued throughout 2019 for users to complete the swap from IOST ERC-20 Token to IOST Mainnet Token. We have set an adequate time frame for this token swap to ensure that every user can complete the token swap during this transition period. We will send advance notice to our communities on various platforms before we end the token swap.
