To celebrate our iOS app, our community, and our launch in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, we have a whole bunch of exciting things to share with you today!
The CryptoKitties live stream
Starting at 8:18am PST, the CryptoKitties team will be taking over one of our favourite streamer’s channel for 16 hours (!!). Expect to see some quality gameplay, interviews with CryptoKitties co-founders, and a whole lot of Fancy Cat hints and giveaways you won’t want to miss!
The CryptoKitties iOS app
CryptoKitties iOS app will premiere in China before it makes its way to the rest of the world. Players on the CryptoKitties iOS app will be able to play CryptoKitties on their phone — no third-party tools necessary.
To avoid the Ethereum network overload CryptoKitties caused when it premiered in late 2017, the iOS app TestFlight launch is initially limited to 5,000 new players in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. To participate in the TestFlight launch, new players simply need to join the CryptoKitties official WeChat account and register their email address on a special entry page. Open spots will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis.

Much like how Genesis kicked off CryptoKitties initial launch, the 888 Golden Dragon Cat kicks off our Greater China launch.
At 4:18pm PST, this highly coveted and one-of-a-kind cat will be available for a starting price of 888 ether and will be on a descending auction for 880 hours.
Momo Wang partners with CryptoKitties!
In conjunction with International Women’s Day and CryptoKitties Greater China Launch, the CryptoKitties team is excited to announce their first Artist Series contributor: Momo Wang.
Momo Wang is a multiple award-winning and internationally recognised illustrator based in Beijing. She is best known as the creator of Tuzki, a black and white line drawing of a bunny that is one of the most recognised characters in China, with over 40 million Tuzki stickers sent daily on messaging platforms such as Facebook and WeChat. Momo Wang will be creating three fancy cats and a special exclusive cat that will all be made available in March.
CryptoKitties was created to introduce everyday consumers to blockchain by showcasing the technology’s potential beyond cryptocurrencies. One of the most exciting implications is what blockchain can mean for digital art. The whole team is incredibly excited to explore this new frontier with Momo Wang! The auction of her exclusive cat represents one of the first examples of an internationally-recognized artist auctioning ownership of their art via blockchain technology, underlining the technology’s potential for art and artists, as well as their fans.
