Set Challenges and Badges

A fun new challenge for CryptoKitty breeders is here

It’s our favorite day over here at CryptoKitties headquarters: new feature day! So without further ado, we’re excited to introduce Set Challenges and Badges.

Set Challenges is the more competitive cousin of Collections, a recently released feature that lets players group their Kitties however they’d like: by Cattribute, ID number, or based on their favourite late 90s pop hit. Like Collections, Sets also involves grouping Kitties together — but as the name suggests, Sets brings an added challenge.

So how will Set Challenges work?

Each Set features a group of Kitties with certain Cattributes for you to breed. To complete a Set, players have to breed six specific Kitties, one to meet the requirements of each slot — or Pawsition — in the Set. Every Set Challenge you complete earns you a flashy Badge to show off on your profile.

Set Challenges add a new gamified element to CryptoKitties. In addition to breeding the most adorable, weird, or valuable Kitties (all of which are completely valid purrsuits) skilled breeders can now show off their prowess by fulfilling these Set Challenges.

We’re launching three Set Challenges to start

Be warned, cool cats: some of these Sets are harder than others. We’ll be releasing new Set Challenges regularly in the future, but here are the first three to get you going:

• Nubbins: This bare-bottomed Set is the easiest of the three.
• Little Green Cats: This Set of interstellar Kitties is a bit trickier to complete.
• Scaredy Cats: For the most fearless breeders, these freaky felines pose the toughest challenge.

What feature launch would be complete without a contest? None, we say! We’ve got special prizes in store for breeders who complete our first three Sets.

• Completing any one Set gets you one entry.
• Completing any two Sets gets you an additional two entries for a total of three.
• Completing all three Sets earns you an another three entries for a total of six and your best chance to win.

Every Badge you earn enters you in a draw to win one of three coveted Gen 0 Kitties, pulled from the first 1,000 Kitties born way back when the game launched.

You have two weeks to complete these three Sets before the contest closes at 4:00 PM PST on November 6th. We’ll make the draw the next day, November 7th, and the winners welcome one of these gorgeous Gen 0 Kitties to their collections: Kitty 523, Kitty 524, or Kitty 525.
