From an introduction to an idea

Jodee Rich, CEO of PeopleBrowsr, has traveled the world attending crypto conferences. He crossed paths with Dieter (a founding member of the CryptoKitties team), and as soon as he learned about plans for the KittyVerse and our public API, he knew he wanted to create Kitty.Kred.

A whole new world — of Kitty Coins!

Because cryptocollectibles are so new, the first challenge facing the team was making sure they weren’t stepping on any legal loopholes.

People often misunderstand our TOS (sometimes very loudly!), and worry that they won’t be allowed to use Kitties for financial gain. But here’s proof of everything you can do with your Kitties!

Once that was sorted out, the Kitty.Kred team faced an interesting challenge: how to create a blockchain Dapp that uses Ethereum, but is faster and minimizes gas costs. They chose to go with a dual-ledger approach. Coins are immediately saved to the Stellar blockchain, so no gas is incurred unless the user chooses to export to Ethereum, which they can do at their leisure.

Because of that dual ledger system, your non-crypto friends don’t need to incur gas fees or go through ‘Know Your Customer’ processes to get started. Kitty.Kred makes it even easier for friends to dip a toe (or paw) into crypt waters!

Ah, 90s nostalgia. Even those of us who were born in the 2000s seem to exhibit a yearning for those simpler times. From TV to clothes to video games, it’s an era rife for adaptation and homage.

That’s why the KittyPillar team wanted to make a tribute to the great 8-bit games of the era. It’s a simple yet strategic game, easy to dive into, that allows for deeper planning and strategy as players swim deeper.

Crypto-enthusiasts turned developers

Like all of best KittyVerse developers, KittyPillar is made by people who believes in the promise of blockchain. KittyPillar’s Onn has been a developer for 16 years. When he first heard about blockchain hype, he was drawn to the underlying technology. Sure, cryptocurrency is great, but what else could be achieved on the application level?

When CryptoKitties pioneered the ERC-721 token standard, Onn immediately jumped on it to make Hogsmash.io, a dapp game intended as a stepping stone to gaming in blockchain industry. Not long after releasing the game, he met Benny (one of Cryptokitties’ founding team members), and learned about the Nifty license and Kittyverse.

He knew he had the potential to reach a wider audience of blockchain gamers if he launched something based on CryptoKitties. He brought on Jacky Hon to help with the web application, and the game was born.

Stack your Kitties to reach the goal!

• The objective is to fill an entire pillar with Kitties.
• There are three pillars to choose from, and players can submit a Kitty to one every round, for a small fee.
• Each Kitty joining a pillar will have a random contribution. The contribution decides how far the pillar has been piled — so one Kitty isn’t necessarily x amount of each pillar.
• If a pillar reaches half or more, new Kitties joining other pillars get a boost to help them catch up.
• All Kitties in the winning pillar share the pool, with the bottom half getting 20% more of the reward for being able to look ahead into the future.
• The round resets once a pillar reaches the goal line. Players can use their rewards to participate again in the next round!

Smart playing and new friends

KittyPillar gives players the chance to work together and outsmart their rivals. Strategize to dump all your Kitties in simultaneously, or strategically place your Kitties as the game heats up. The options are limitless!
