Hello, Metaverse racers!

Today we are launching a closed alpha of our long-awaited CryptoMotors 3D Racing Game. Starting now, almost 500 players who claimed the alpha driver role on our Discord server will be able to have a hands-on experience with our game.

The CryptoMotors 3D Game is one of the biggest projects we’ve embarked on since we started this adventure back in 2018, and we have been working around the clock for over a year to make it a reality.

Our goal is to involve the community from the earliest stages to gather as much feedback as possible. We want to create the best racing game of the Metaverse, and we need your help to achieve that goal.

If you’re an alpha driver and have subscribed to test the game, you’ll get a private link in the #AlphaDriver Discord Channel to download the game. So go ahead! Play it, break it, have fun with it, and let us know what you think.

IMPORTANT: Take into account that the CryptoMotors 3D game is in an alpha state. You’ll likely encounter bugs, glitches, missing features, and many things we can improve to make the game more fun, engaging, and attractive. We want to know about all those things you find, so make sure to tell us!

CryptoMotors 3D Game — Closed Alpha. GEN0 Sedan racing in TIME ATTACK mode

What is the CryptoMotors 3D Racing Game?

The CryptoMotors 3D game is a competitive play-to-earn game that allows users to race with their own CryptoMotors NFT cars, compete for a spot in the leaderboards and win amazing rewards.

The game is built in Unity, and it combines aspects from driving simulation games with an arcade racing experience.

That means players will have to train their racing skills to master the cars and the tracks while enjoying exciting arcade components like the use of nitro, speed boosts, powerups, and drifting.

This closed alpha comes with a Time-Attack game mode, in which players compete to achieve the fastest possible time in three laps. Players can join a race using their own CryptoMotors cars or borrowed ones. The best performances are displayed in an in-game leaderboard that automatically updates with the best runs.

This build includes all the CryptoMotors cars launched to date in all their variations and colors, including the Retro Rocket models designed by Scott Robertson.

The game is integrated with the CryptoMotors website, so users can log in using their CM accounts. Alpha Drivers who don’t have a CryptoMotors vehicle can still play the game. We’ve included a test car so everybody can experience racing with a CM car.

It’s important to mention that, in the alpha, stats won’t influence the performance of the vehicles in the races.

All cars run with the same acceleration, max speed, grip, braking, and handling values. Although, the vehicles do differentiate from each other in terms of the shape and size of the models.

In this sense, currently, the results of races will depend entirely on the players’ skills and not on the stats of the vehicles.

Car stats will play an important part in future versions of the game. However, we are still discussing how we will balance the impact of stats on the races.

How to play the CryptoMotors 3D game

Players who have claimed the alpha driver role in our Discord Server will receive a private link to download the alpha launcher.

The game has been tested on different PC settings. However, we are still optimizing it for mid-to-low end devices.

For that reason, to make sure you enjoy the best possible experience, we recommend you run the game with the following specs:

  • AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • RAM: 12 GB
  • GPU: GeForce RTX 2060 Super

If you have a lower-end PC, don’t worry. Try to test the game anyway, and let us know how it runs on your device. We have included an option to change the graphic settings between low, medium, and high, so you can check if it works for you.

This alpha build currently works only on Windows, and it is only playable with a keyboard. We are working on a Mac version and controller support. You can expect the Mac-compatible build to be available in Q1 2022.

What will alpha drivers encounter when launching the game?

Besides playing the Time-Attack mode, users can go to the in-game garage and visualize their CryptoMotors NFT vehicle in 3D, along with the car’s stats, type, generation, and description.

Players can also browse through the different CM models and visit the OpenSea page to purchase those cars directly from the game.

When accessing the “Race now” section in the lobby, users can glimpse the different game modes we are working on. We aim to release new modes, features, and improvements during 2022.

ETH logos give you a speed boost and re-charge your nitro so you can accelerate your car and gain an advantage in the race. Collecting ETH logos does not cost you any Gas!

Wen play-to-earn?

Our ultimate goal is that our 3D game becomes a competitive, play-to-earn game that allows users to compete in open tournaments with their own CryptoMotors NFT cars and win valuable rewards.

For us, the top priority now is building a robust core product to ensure that, when we finally implement the play-to-earn aspect, there are solid and fair mechanics in place to support our vision for the game.

There’s still a long road ahead, and we have a dedicated development team working full-time on this project.

For the following months, we will be focusing on:

  • Refactoring and polishing the code to ensure it is optimized and working properly
  • Developing and implementing the Mac version
  • Preparing the open alpha release so that anyone can test the game

We aim to implement play-to-earn around Q2 this year. Initially, it will probably follow a similar model to our STAT game, where players will participate in scheduled tournaments, and the rewards are delivered to the top racers.

Over time, we will optimize this model, implementing new rewards, game modes, maps, and different types of tournaments. We will share any information regarding this topic on our social channels.

Level design

Currently, the alpha has only one map, which is inspired by the first CryptoMotors Design Challenge.

This map is set in a futuristic, cyberpunk-style world called Y43. Huge skyscrapers and glimmering neon lights surround the racing track. The road features tight curves and sharp turns to create a perfect balance of high speed and maneuverability.

We are working on other 3D maps based on the STAT game tracks to ensure that, in the future, users can compete in different terrains that fit their cars’ characteristics.

Alpha drivers: we want your feedback!

If you are an alpha driver, that means you have a unique opportunity to test and enjoy the CryptoMotors 3D Racing game earlier than anyone else.

Letting you test the product and listen to your feedback is a top priority for us and an essential part of our roadmap to creating the best racing game in the Metaverse. We want the community to fully experience the high utility of our cars and see what the technology behind CryptoMotors can allow us to do.

Please, keep in mind that we are still at a very early development stage. Consider the game’s current state as a pilot version of something that will grow and improve over time. We are at the starting point of a long and exciting journey.

So, go on! Download the game launcher, and get ready to dominate the tracks with your own 3D CryptoMotors car!

We hope you enjoy playing it as much as we enjoy building it! 🙌
