Announcing CryptoMove’s Chrome Browser Extension: Protect Passwords Across Slack, Gmail, and More

Big news! We’re thrilled to announce our new Chrome Browser Extension. Through this browser extension, we’re taking the power of moving target defense to protect passwords and other sensitive information located online.

The browser extension allows users to easily convert any confidential information — emails, passwords, even social media posts and messages — into a secret encrypted by our globally patented moving target defense (MTD) technology that continuously and dynamically splits up, fragments, spreads out, encrypts and mutates data across the cloud until needed.

Here are just a few things you can accomplish through this browser extension:

  • Save and share passwords across the productivity tools you use every day on any website— Slack, Gmail, Skype, even Facebook or Twitter — by installing the Chrome plugin into your browser.
  • Simply right click on secret information to automatically send it to CryptoMove and replace it with a placeholder, such as cmv-slack-w3gdiq. Right click the placeholder and CryptoMove’s browser plugin will show it to you in your browser, without revealing it to the underlying website such as Slack or Gmail.
  • Apply the power of moving target defense, ensuring passwords are never stationary and predictable targets
  • Easily manage your encrypted keys and secrets from our platform through your Chrome browser or our SaaS web app

The browser extension integrates directly with CryptoMove’s SaaS platform, which allows users to add, delete, and share passwords, secrets, or even files through an intuitive user interface. The browser extension is free and available for download in the Google Chrome Web Store. Once downloaded, you can begin managing your versioning and sharing by storing encrypted passwords through your CryptoMove account directly in the Chrome browser.

To set your team up for success, our Software Engineer Nick Shook has created a helpful how-to video that takes you through setup and use cases.
