CryptoRome Update: 12/28/2018

Hail CryptoRome Community! Before the year comes to an end, we wanted to provide a brief update on the development and growth of CryptoRome.

Since Launch 2.0 in mid-December, 111 new players have entered the game bringing total players well over 700. The addition of Trajan’s Market and the Caesar Triumph daily tournaments attracted new players to the game and energized the existing community.

Developer Update

We continue to make small improvements and bug fixes daily to Resources, Land Improvements and Trajan’s Market. The community has been incredibly helpful in identifying bugs and providing ideas for improvements!

Added this week

  • Ability to purchase new land tokens from supply using Ether in the game store
  • Indicator of resources on building cards when player lacks a resource for better user experience

Coming Soon

Following New Years, we will begin loading in player’s barracks and winery credits. Players will see these credits in the profile page from the player main menu. Once received, players can immediately use them to place the appropriate leveled structure on one of their open land slots. Players that have credits but are without land to place those credits will need to contact us when they acquire land to place the structures. Our team will work with each player to help get land secured and buildings placed. With these credits in place, we will officially say goodbye to the mini-games of the past and look ahead to building on this new foundation of CryptoRome.

What we are working on

We saw some tremendous growth in the battle during the past few weeks and anticipate that growth will continue to accelerate as the game evolves in the coming months. As a result, the Caesar Triumph Tournaments has felt the pain and joy of this growth simultaneously, with daily players reaching upwards of 70. We are migrating the battles to a new backend server design. These changes will permit the game to scale and improve game performance to real-time.

We are working on a supply train feature for sending resources and goods to battle. As part of the supply train release, players can place different types of walls using resources, apply swords in battle and gain XP for their Centurions each day through different types of training.

We’re also in the process of building a set of tutorial videos as well as identifying opportunities to better explain gameplay within the game.

Thank you again for being a part of the CryptoRome community in 2018! Here is to a glorious and rewarding 2019!
