Getting Started: Installing MetaMask (Other Extensions) + Mobile Access
This is a companion post to How to Install MetaMask. Part I will show the extension download process for FireFox and Opera, Part II will discuss setting up MetaMask on the Brave browser, and Part III will outline how to use MetaMask on the Cipher, Toshi, and Trust Wallet mobile apps.
What is MetaMask? 🤔
MetaMask is a digital wallet that is compatible with CryptoStrikers. It acts as your login to our application and secures your identity. Your wallet address is associated with all the transactions you make playing CryptoStrikers — including buying packs, trading, and selling cards. Your wallet stores digital currency as well as records ownership of specific player cards.
Part I: How to Download and Install the FireFox and Opera MetaMask Extensions ⚙️
Instructions on how to install and configure MetaMask for FireFox and Opera browsers are detailed below.
ℹ️ Once you have installed the applicable extension, please refer back to Section 2 of our How to Install MetaMask post for instructions on account registration.
1. FireFox Browser Extension — MetaMask
Installing MetaMask using FireFox is quick and easy:
1️⃣ Click here to to access the MetaMask extension for FireFox. You can also download it from the MetaMask website, which provides an introductory video.
2️⃣ Add MetaMask to your browser by clicking the Add to FireFox button to install.
3️⃣ The Add prompt asks you to confirm installation of MetaMask.
✅ You’ll get a notification when FireFox has completed the install process.
2. Opera Browser Extension — MetaMask
Installing MetaMask using Opera is straightforward:
1️⃣ Click here to to access the MetaMask extension for Opera. You can also download it from the MetaMask website, which provides an introductory video.
2️⃣ Add MetaMask to your browser by clicking the Add to Opera button to install.
✅ You’ll get a notification when Opera has completed the install process.
Part II: Using MetaMask on the Brave Browser
The Brave browser comes with MetaMask preinstalled. In the words of the company, Brave allows users to “[b]rowse faster by blocking ads and trackers that violate your privacy and cost you time and money.”
Installing the Brave Browser
Installing Brave is as simple as any other software.
1️⃣ From the Brave website, click the Download Brave button.
2️⃣ Once Brave is installed, upon going to www.cryptostrikers.com you’ll need to click the Install MetaMask button.
✅ MetaMask will instantly be enabled, and you will be ready to use CryptoStrikers.
Part III: Using Mobile Dapp Browsers
Cipher Browser, Toshi, and Trust Wallet are iOS/Android apps containing mobile wallets that are compatible with CryptoStrikers. To use CryptoStrikers on a mobile device, you will need to use one of these apps. We’ll take you through the setup process for each of these apps below.
1. Cipher Browser
Download and Installation Process
After installing the mobile app and opening:
1️⃣ Click Create A New Wallet.
2️⃣ You must agree with the terms of service to continue.
3️⃣ You’ll be asked to pick an identicon for your wallet before it is generated.
4️⃣ Write down your 12 word recovery phrase before moving to the next step.
5️⃣ Verify each of the 12 words in your recovery phrase or skip to the next step.
6️⃣ iOS users will be prompted to set up TouchID.
✅ Your wallet will then be created.
⏭ When you click done, select the browser tab on the next screen. Then go to www.cryptostrikers.com.
2. Toshi
Download and Installation Process
After installing the mobile app and opening:
1️⃣ Click Create a new account.
2️⃣ You must agree with the terms of service to continue.
✅ Your wallet has been created! Enter www.crypstostrikers.com into the search box to start playing.
3. Trust Wallet
Download and Installation Process
After installing the mobile app and opening:
1️⃣ Click Create Wallet.
2️⃣ The next step is to backup your wallet with a password.
3️⃣ Set a password and click Done.
✅ You wallet has been created!
⏭ Select the browser tab on the next screen. Then go to www.cryptostrikers.com.
