Types of Chandeliers
By Yanina Maggio (Classic Chandelier Specialist)
Today I want to provide you with a quick introduction to the three most important types of chandeliers: Crystal, Metal and Marie Therese Chandeliers.
The first type, and one of my favourites, is theCrystal Chandelier. As you can see in the first picture below, this Chandelier has crystal arms, dishes, bowls and pendants. This example was finished in chrome (but made with brass to ensure the best quality, as mentioned in my first post).
These chandeliers are elegant, with dazzling shine and light-reflecting qualities, giving us a spectacular piece of art.
The second type of chandelier is the Marie Therese Chandelier. Its principal characteristic is its arms made of metal and crystal parts, very carefully mounted.
These lamps, being the most expensive type of chandelier, are considered the most refined and elegant of all chandeliers.
And the last type is the Metal Chandelier. These are made nearly entirely of brass and plated with gold or chrome to give them a perfect finish.
Metal chandeliers are sophisticated and contemporary.
All chandeliers can be customised, not by choosing gold or chrome, but also with or without lamp shades and with different pendant types such as balls or almonds. More on pendants in my next blog posting!
