Award Winning Designs
During Fall 2020, I taught a course — CS449/649: Human-Computer Interaction at the University of Waterloo. Students worked together in teams to design a solution for a real-world problem. There were 17 teams formed, each containing 4–5 students. A list of topics were given, such as “helping student cohorts stay in touch,” “enhancing team building in remote settings,” and “reducing carbon footprint.” Throughout the term, students completed a design cycle of five stages including empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. In the end, I was super amazed by the final designs submitted by the students! The projects are, simply astonishing!
Here I present some of the best designs recognized across the class. For more information, please read their Medium blogposts.
