  1. Join the Commonwealth Secretariat Young Professionals Programme (YPP)as Assistant Research Officer, International Trade Policy (Fully-funded)

The Commonwealth Secretariat is proud to support youth empowerment through our Young Professionals Programme (YPP). The YPP creates multiple opportunities for talented and qualified young people from across the Commonwealth to contribute to our core work through the transference of technical expertise, innovative ideas, specialist knowledge, and fresh perspectives.

Reporting to the Adviser and Head of Section, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing the ITP Section with technical and administrative support for the delivery of analytical work, the organisation of advocacy meetings and capacity building workshops, and the preparation and documentation of policy work. The post-holder will also undertake policy research and provide support to the team in key areas of the Section’s trade policy work.

Other responsibilities entailed in this role include (but are not limited to):

Assisting the ITP Section with literature reviews, data analysis, information gathering and analytical work on trade and trade-related development issues;
Working with the relevant Advisers in conducting analysis on multilateral and regional trade negotiation issues of interest to member countries;
Assisting the ITP Section in the preparatory processes for major publication projects and their dissemination;
Assisting the Section in preparing analytical and briefing papers on issues of interest, such as multilateral and regional trade negotiations, supply chains, South-South trade, and other trade-related emerging and development issues;
Assisting with and conducting other trade-related research as required, and contributing to speeches, presentations and talking points for senior officials.
To be considered you must have a degree in Economics, International Trade or related discipline, and at least one year of work experience in the areas of Economics or International Trade. Candidates who have obtained a relevant post-graduate qualification, and have experience of working on international trade agreements and/or the functioning of international trade organizations, such as the World Trade Organization, will have an added advantage.

3. Fully — funded Volunteering in Silesia, Poland — entrepreneurship project

Fundacja Rozwoju Społeczeństwa Przedsiębiorczego is looking for 1 young volunteer in age 18–30 to take part in the ESC volunteering project in Silesia region in Poland.

Proposed activities: I) Promotion, development and dissemination entrepreneurial attitudes -meetings with school youth, students and alumni as a way of acquiring work experience and improve their employability -providing workshops, presentations, lectures and social campaigns; -„Entrepreneurship from kindergarten” — classes, workshops dedicated to pre-school children (visit to local kindergartens) II) Dissemination and promotion volunteering III)The promotion of European Union and ESC Programme IV) PR and promotion activities creating/updating a database of current volunteering projects, youth exchanges, aborad trainings, internships, volunteering / co-financing for own business V) Teaching languages to local inhabistants. ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS

Organization provides accommodation for each participant in a flat shared by two people. The flat includes a kitchen, a bathroom and two rooms. Volunteers have separate rooms. Everything needed can be found in each flat. We provide internet (Wi-fi).

The special needs of the participants will be taken into account. An amount of 100 EUR for food and pocket money of 120 EUR will be given at the beginning of each month to each participant. The volunteers will also benefit of a local transportation.
