Why UNESCO Launched Global Education Coalition?

More than 1.5 billion students and youth across the planet are affected by school and university closures due to the COVID-19 outbreak, education systems are disrupted all around the world.

As UNESCO states, the Covid-19 outbreak is also a major education crisis

To provide solutions and facilitate inclusive learning opportunities for children and youth during UNESCO launched the Global Education Coalition.

Global organizations such as the United Nations, Unicef, World Bank, Microsoft, Coursera, Khan Academy, CODE, Commonwealth of Learning have already joined the initiative. They provide different kinds of resources for learners who are affected by the Virus.

Furthermore, UNESCO invites interested organizations to join the coalition and contribute to creating more flexible education systems.
