Overview

The Casper Wallet Open Beta is an opportunity for anyone to test drive the newest browser wallet for the Casper Network. From March 15–31 beta participants will be able to use the wallet with a few apps on Casper testnet, submit feedback, and interact in our community spaces. After the open beta week, an exclusive NFT commemorating the launch of Casper Wallet will be sent to all participants (more on that to be revealed later.)

Before you start…

Playbook

Follow the playbook step by step to participate in the beta and explore as much of Casper Wallet’s available capabilities as possible.

Step 1 Install Casper Wallet

Install for Firefox

Install for Safari

Install For Chrome

Step 2 Create your account

Complete onboarding to set up your secret recovery phrase and first account.

Step 3 Sign in to CSPR.live with Casper Wallet

Make sure you switch your account to Testnet in Casper Wallet

Then visit https://testnet.cspr.live/sign-in and sign in with Casper Wallet.

Step 4 Fund your account

Now that you’re signed in you’ll need a little testnet CSPR in your new account to complete the rest of the playbook. You can do this using the testnet faucet.

Go to https://testnet.cspr.live/tools/faucet

Click Request Tokens.

Wait a minute or two for the request to finish. Your balance should update with 2000 CSPR automatically.

Step 5 Transfer CSPR

In Casper Wallet, open the hamburger menu and create a second account.

Go to https://testnet.cspr.live/transfer . (Make sure you’re still signed in using Casper Wallet)

Going through the steps of the wizard, try sending some CSPR from your first account to your second account.

Once you see your CSPR balance update in Casper Wallet with the transferred amount you are ready to continue (this could take a minute or so).

Step 6 Delegate CSPR

Once Casper Wallet is connected to CSPR.live visit https://testnet.cspr.live/delegate-stake . Choose an eligible validator from the validator list (one that does not have over 952 delegators.)

In the Amount field enter the following value exactly: 555

Continue through the Delegate wizard. Sign the deploy with Casper Wallet to execute the deploy and delegate your CSPR.

Step 7 Submit the Public Key Registration form

Once you have completed the steps above and submitted any feedback fill out and submit the Participant Public Key Registration.

Make sure to fill this form out before the end of the open beta window (March 31st) to ensure you get your participation NFT.

Ad Hoc Testing

Once you’ve completed Steps 1–7 you’re free to explore Casper Wallet as you see fit. Here are the features we recommend you try out at least once:

Submitting Feedback

Submit your bug reports and feedback through the Casper Wallet Beta feedback board. If you have an improvement suggestion, use the ‘General Feedback’ type.

Although it’s useful to know where things are working well, critical feedback is how we make Casper Wallet the best it can be. During your test, if you encounter anything that doesn’t work the way you would expect, if something is unclear or confusing, submit it to our board. Even if you’re not 100% sure it's a valid issue!

Verifying Participation

Once you have completed steps 1–6 of the playbook and submitted any feedback fill out and submit the Participant Public Key Registration.

Make sure to fill this form out during the open beta testing window: March 15–31

Wrapping up

That’s it for now. Make sure to sign up at Casperwallet.io to receive important announcements and updates throughout the open beta period. And be sure to follow the official Casper Wallet Twitter account.

On behalf of everyone here at MAKE and the Casper Wallet development team, thanks for joining in and being a part of Casper Wallet history as we prepare for launch 🚀!

Sincerely,

-Casper Wallet Team
