It’s often hard to find the time to code just for the fun of it, especially when there are so many things going on in our lives and distractions are everywhere. That is why CSS Frankfurt has created Frank’s Coding Night, an event format dedicated to social coding and coding for the fun of it! 😺

Why Frank’s Coding Night?

The goal of Frank’s Coding Night is to get together with others and have fun coding while also learning or getting better at topics related to CSS and design on the web. Frank’s Coding Night events are not bound to specific topics, but there will be theme nights where topics that members are interested in will be covered.

The first edition of Frank’s Coding Night was Friday April 27 and the topics included CSS Grid and CSS Images. At this event we followed up on the talk “From Print Grids to css grids” that Steffen held at our kickoff, and spent the evening coding with CSS Grid. With the help of various exercises and games, our members learned the basics of CSS Grid. At the event, I also talked about CSS images and shared how to use CSS in new ways to create art, with examples and and live coding.

When will there be Frank’s Coding Nights?

Frank’s coding night will be a regular occurring event format that we hope to have every two weeks. The events will be hosted at the Die Zentrale Coworking Space in Bornheim, which is CSS Frankfurt and Frank’s headquarters. Anyone interested in experimenting with or learning more about CSS is welcome to Frank’s Coding Nights, regardless of skill level. We hope to see you around!
