Hello World

The most cliche way to start a blog ever but there it is. I never know how to start a thing but let’s just dive in.

I am starting this blog, inshAllah, as a way to document journey towards becoming an Architect and Architectural Photographer, inshAllah.

Don’t let anyone tell you, you can’t take a selfie with a DSLR.

A little background: I’ve always been interested in buildings and design. As a 17 year old applying to colleges I was set on studying Architecture at the University of Virginia. While I did get accepted, for a variety of reasons I did not go there. I ended up a George Mason University and brightly came in as a civil engineering major.

Close enough, right? Haha, nope. Long story short, I switched majors to IT and have made that my career.

Even on graduation day I was more interested in the back of the camera then being in front of it.

But 6 short years in the working world and I find myself grateful but restless. So I’ve picked up a camera and signed up for a summer Architecture program. See next blog post for details.

So… time to start pursuing old dreams. Follow along with me on the journey if you wish, inshAllah, and I’ll try not to bore you too much.
