We at CUBE Lambton College love to go to business and tech events. It's way better when those are tight together in the same one! Below you will find 5 of the reasons why we like it so much!
1. Networking
Networking has a lot of benefits in the long term for you career. Even if you think you are not good at networking, you still should try it. Talking to new people is also good for your physical and mental health, plus you can find your future partner or maybe a good friend in those events.
2. Talk to like minded people
If you are attending these kind of event, chances are you like the same things most of the people in the event like too. It's easy to start a conversation when you have the right context and environment. Also, it's a chance to learn from people that are in the event.
3. See applications of new technologies
We always hear about new technologies, but we rarely have a chance to see it. However, on those events you can see these technologies in a real world application. It gives them more context and make it easier to understand them.
4. Try new technologies yourself
Seeing a new tech in person is great, but it's even nicer to test it yourself. BizTech events can provide you this experience. As the goal of these events is to show people new trends, it usually allow people to try the tech themselves, providing a more immersive experience.
5. Get new ideas that you can turn into a business
Those kind of events smells new ideas. Exposing your brain to those new techs will make it work to solve a problem you or someone you know may have. Plus, if you actually do some networking, you will exponentially improve your chances of come up with a new idea inside the event. Chances are, there will be some business specialist that can give you advices and new perspectives right away. That's amazing!
