At 9pm the Trivia section of the night commences! All hunters will have the chance to run their first trivia gauntlet and get a score on the leaderboards! Then every half hour everybody will get a fresh chance to see if they can improve their score. After 4 attempts the final scores are in and the rewards get distributed, may the best hunter win! Even if you perform worse then a raccoon after a heavy night of dumpster diving: everybody gets at least the new unique cubie : The Toronto Raccoon cubie! After that we celebrate the winners until midnight when we close the party down and prepare for day 2!

Saturday : Meetup & check-in at the kiosk!

To get started with the rest of the weekend, meet up with Illusionweaver and other hunters on Saturday September 21 at 10am local Time (EDT).

Meet at the TORONTO sign at Nathan Philips Square
( https://maps.app.goo.gl/cxwhH7ZXzrKGswc9A) ! You’ll see a special kiosk in the game. Interact with it to pay your 5000 Crystal Key entry fee and activate your signup for the Fruit Festival! You’ll get an instant in-game reward to Spin the Wheel for a fat stack of resin!

Participating hunters will also receive:

100 Explorer Points
10 Hunter Points

The kiosk will remain available in-game for any late-arriving hunters.

At 10:30 we will activate the Fruit Festival, which will turn Toronto into a wonderland of watermelons peaches and apples! As soon as it’s activated the following things will happen :

  1. All white and blue vaults will start dropping fruit resources needed to print the common (apple) and rare (peach) cubies.
  2. The white vaults have a chance to drop the new Apple blueprint, the blue vaults have a chance to drop the juicy peach blueprint.
  3. All Quinten the Cartographers will appear on the map. He’s charting the entire Cubieverse and he needs your help. Solve his quests and earn another chance of epic resources and the epic watermelon cubie blueprint! He’ll be hanging out at iconic locations in Toronto.
  4. All seven restaurant quests will appear on the map, go and have breakfast, lunch or dinner at those and you will have a chance to get the elusive epic watermelon cubie blueprint!

Restaurant Locations

These are the restaurants that will have in-game Cubieverse counterparts!

Click the names for a Google Maps link.

The restaurant quest duration at each location will be 30 minutes. Consider making reservations with other hunters so you can hunt and eat as a group! You can use the Toronto City event channel on Discord to coordinate with other hunters. Restaurant quests will respawn each noon UTC.

Quinten the Cartographer locations

Hunters will be able to find Quinten in two major areas:

  1. Downtown Toronto : stretching from Chinatown on one side to the distillery district on the other side!
  2. Center island : catch the ferry or water taxi to see a whole different side of Toronto! Here are a couple of tips :

There are two ways to get there : ferry or water taxi.
The ferry leaves from The Jack Layton Ferry Terminal and leaves every 30–40 minutes. A return ticket costs about $9 CAD and the ride takes about 10 minutes. You can easily purchase tickets online or at the terminal.

The water taxi stand is right next to the ferry terminal and takes you across in 5 minutes without the need to wait and costs about $14 CAD each way.

Once arrived at center island, you can either walk the entire island looking for Quintens but my recommendation would be to rent a bicycle next to the peer at the beach. They rent regular bikes but also 2 and 4 people bicycle carts, a super fun way to explore the island hunting for quintens!

Don’t forget to take pictures because from this island you get the most incredible views of the Toronto skyline!

hunt for Quintens on one of these bad boys!

Escape room quest location

The “Lost Treasure Quest” is at Enigma escape rooms, (130 Dundas St W) very close to the kiosk location. Make sure to show up 10 minutes before your timeslot! Show your wristband to the operators to get 10% discount.

Talk to the infamous pirate cubie to get the quest started! Make sure you don’t leave without scanning the QR code to get your reward! The operators will show you the QR code after you finished the room.

NOTE :Participating in this event requires purchasing entry tickets at the Escape room. Show your City Event wristband to the patron and you will receive a 10% discount! ($36 CAD instead of $40 CAD pp.)

Toronto hunting

As you will notice, this city has a very strong group of hunters, building out every corner of the cubieverse. You will see an inspiring amount of user vaults, trade shacks, sushi restaurants, pizza restaurants and coffee shops everywhere! Make sure to thank the local hunters for all the hard work they have put in building out this incredible corner of the Cubieverse!

Methods of hunting

There are several ways to hunt in Toronto:

  • walking: this is a very walkable city, but if you choose this, you will do a ton of steps this weekend!
  • hop on / hop off bus. A fun way to hunt is to go full tourist mode and get on the hop on/ hop off bus. While learning about the history of the city you will have a massive amounts of vaults to hit. Perfect combo!
  • if you want the absolute most efficient ways of hunting: talk to a local hunter! They perfected the art of hunting in this city and you will learn a ton of tricks!

Sunday night after party

More info about this one later ;)
