The remix to his hit single ‘Old Town Road’ is the catchy melodic tune that is storming world music charts …..or …has stormed music charts? We’re not entirely sure where the world is at with the song anymore. This one might have slept for too long in the drafts.

If you don’t know Lil Nas X, he’s got a few horses in the back, his hat is matte black and he wears wrangler on his booty. Put simply, he’s black Tim McGraw.

Our correspondents caught up with Lil Nas X briefly (allegedly) and put a few questions to him, which is a chore in itself considering the fact that “can’t nobody tell me (him) nothing”:

  • What inspired the featuring choice on the song- Billy Ray Cyrus? It was almost a no brainer Billy Ray reached out that he would love to drop a few bars about his new Maserati sports car on a song and classic country music instrumentals just wouldn’t cut it. So we got working and can’t nobody tell me nothing
  • Is Old Town Road Country or the new ‘Trap Country’ you’re being credited for it inventing? All of the above can’t nobody tell me nothing
  • When asked what inspired his stage name Lil Nas X and whether he’s ever been told to simplify it for something that can be said in the same breath or at least with two syllables. He simply responded “it’s cool, I like it if y’all don’t like it that’s also cool, can’t nobody tell me nothing”
  • On his experimentation with different ideas and sounds for his upcoming EP- I may have invented trap country but I shan’t be trapped in the country, can’t nobody tell me nothing, you can’t tell me nothing

He then walked off into the sunset as tumbleweeds blew across his path in opposite directions.

‘What a guy!’ We thought to ourselves as we watched his strut.

PS.- He cheated on his baby, you can go and ask her
