Cudos Labs: development update! 🧠 (13/01/2022)

Here’s what we’ve been working on:

Last week:

Cudos Network

  • Private Testnet updates:
  • We modified the Gravity Bridge implementation to address security (the changes do not affect end-user experience).
  • We added the IBC Module.
  • We carried out final modelling and checks on the Validators’ reward tokenomics.
  • We tested the IBC Module to verify how it is affected by network updates.
  • IBC Module updates:
  • We tested multiple Hermes relayers on the same chains.
  • Separate Hermes relayer build init and start scripts
  • We worked on the new Gravity Bridge UI Design.

Ethereum to CUDOS migration

  • We reconfigured the Address Mapping tool after an issue with coinType was identified (read more — here).
  • We thoroughly re-tested the new Address Mapping configurations.

  • We completed the new architecture (structure and refactoring of initial commands)
  • We’ve completed Run, init, compile, test, keys, and node commands.
  • We established an error handling solution for the CLI.
  • We’ve completed the research on the Cudos MultiSig wallet approach.
  • The wallet will be based on cudosjs.

This week:

Cudos Network

  • We’ll continue preparations around the Public Testnet, focusing on Hard fork, local tests, and documentation.
  • We’ll update Testnet Phase 4 documentation.
  • We’ll set up the infrastructure of the Cudos MultiSig Wallet.

Ethereum to CUDOS migration

  • We’ll deploy the Address Mapping contract.
  • We’ll finalise the Address Mapping testing and release the new version.

  • We’ll work on updates for allowing developers to:
  • Change the number of accounts and balances.
  • Use the help command and get additional info on the tool.
  • Use different networks.
  • Be able to install additional plugins to the tool.
  • We’ll finalise work on utilising Big Dipper 2 (a new version of the Block Explorer).
