Cudos’ latest launch unites Cloud and Blockchain for Web3

Cudos lays the foundations in its quest to provide decentralised computing resources for the masses. Cudos’ Blockchain Compute technical preview will unite Cloud and Blockchain for Web3.

Every step brings us closer to fully realising our aim of converging cloud and blockchain services. Cudos Blockchain Compute is a definitive step towards our vision of fully decentralising computing resources while championing user privacy and sustainability.

What We’re Building

From the beginning, we’ve tirelessly targeted the convergence of cloud computing and blockchain technology. Our first step was to create a blockchain network we could all be proud of, launching our testnet in 2021 and hitting mainnet in June 2022.

The next piece of the puzzle was tapping into underutilised cloud resources. While for this initial version, we have restricted the amount of providers feeding into the system, as the foundational piece for our future innovations, this technical preview serves as a springboard into complete decentralisation.

Our vision for the short term includes a much broader base of Virtual Machine (VM) options, in an equally diverse set of geographic locations, which will bring us a step closer to true decentralisation. Our long-term goal is to collapse this service into a completely decentralised marketplace for all your computing needs!

• Cheaper and Greener — the dApp features an open marketplace, starting with distributed renewable-energy-fuelled VMs. Leveraging underutilised resources aims to distinguish the service as the cheapest and most ethical source of computing power.

• Flexible pricing — pay only based on consumption and get a refund for any unused time at the end of your VM session immediately.

• Remote Virtual Desktop — browse the internet securely and remotely.
• Multi-Token Support — support for IBC tokens, e.g. $ATOM, $OSMO
• Multi-Chain Support — deployment on chains outside of the Cudos Network.
• Extra Providers — deepen our supply pool by integrating a wider selection of machines.
• No/Low code blockchain development workflows — this amazing solution will offer smart contract templates, an integrated development environment, middleware and integration tooling to allow the launch of blockchain nodes and dApps in just a few clicks.
• True Marketplace — move beyond VM’s, and offer a wider range of infra services e.g virtual kubernetes and more.
