CUDOS is excited to announce our partnership with Secret Network to deliver cloud computing infrastructure for decentralised confidential computing (DeCC) applications on the Secret platform.

This collaboration opens up powerful new use cases, such as securing AI models and training data in a decentralised and secure environment. The CUDOS Intercloud platform will support essential application services like websites and user interfaces. Additionally, CUDOS will integrate Secret’s native token SCRT into our platform, enabling users to purchase cloud computing resources with SCRT.

Understanding DeCC

DeCC, or Decentralised Confidential Computing, is the ability of a smart contract running on a blockchain to compute and store encrypted data. Historically, most smart contract blockchains have been public by default, meaning that the ledger, transactions, and data contained in the smart contract are accessible to everyone. While this transparency is a hallmark of Web3, it is unsuitable for all applications.

For instance, consider building a rideshare application like Uber on a completely public blockchain. Sensitive information such as a user’s current location, commonly used locations like home or work, personal details like their name and date of birth, and payment history, including the balance in their crypto wallet, would be visible on-chain. This would pose significant privacy and security risks.

DeCC aims to solve this problem by enabling decentralised applications that provide robust data protection, ensuring that sensitive information remains confidential.

A Synergistic Partnership for Enhanced Privacy and Computing Power

For developers creating DeCC applications on Secret, having robust cloud computing support is crucial. By combining the additional computing power from our cloud services with the standard capabilities of smart contracts, this partnership will enable advanced functionalities like artificial intelligence training and execution. Privacy is a critical aspect of responsible AI development, and the integration of Secret’s decentralised confidential computing with CUDOS’ cloud infrastructure ensures this.

The CUDOS Intercloud platform, now accepting payments in SCRT, streamlines the process for Secret developers to access and leverage our services.

Future Integration and Capabilities

In the near future, Secret plans to integrate its Confidential Computing Layer with the CUDOS blockchain, unlocking new capabilities for dApps built on CUDOS. This will enable a range of functionalities, such as private voting for CUDOS DAOs, encrypted storage for CUDOS applications, secure random number generation for CUDOS games, confidential data access control via CUDOS NFTs, sealed-bid auctions for CUDOS NFTs and other assets, and encrypted order books for CUDOS DeFi applications.
