There are a colourful array of applications users of the Cudos network will come to enjoy, many of which Cudos will be clarifying over the coming weeks.

Our community can look forward to Cudos exploring these areas in good time. For now, the spotlight is on the all-important aspect of Digital Authorisation on the Cudos network. Because in a world where only 29% of consumers are using a personal VPN (Security.org), and where soberingly, less than one-third of Americans are using two-factor authentication Duo Security; just how safe are we online?

We all use digital authorisation in some form or another as we navigate the online world; unique passwords, pre-shared key (PSK), biometric authentication, two-factor authentication (2FA), and even behavioural authentication in some rarer circumstances.

As one can appreciate, however, one of the largest caveats for users on the Cudos network might be digital authorisation; perhaps because there are various important considerations to be made — knowledge, intelligence and inheritance factors, just to name a few. But not to worry, the Cudos team has been applying themselves to this matter to ensure the utmost security for its users.

Reports from media giant Bloomberg just today has undeniably proven that no website; whether it’s Reddit, the New York Times, or even the UK Government, is immune to network failures such as outages. Outages with the potential to administer devastation on personal account data and activity. This begs the question, how well kept is our online activity kept if giants such as Shopify and Stripe are prone to digital dismay?

At Cudos, we recognise this caveat for what it is and consider it our duty to attend to these issues of online security and user satisfaction prominently and to great effect, reflected by our timely and comprehensive work in the digital authorisation space.

Digital authentication is a complex area, and needless to say is an expensive oversight if not executed right. Authentication is paramount to the safe and secure authentication of decentralized applications (dApps running on the Cudos network). And as our community will come to see later in the week in our new partner announcement, the Cudos network will allow for secure, one-click authentication, in its blockchain network (password technology) for developers; giving Cudos network users the ultimate peace of mind as they navigate the network and their favourite dApps.

Furthermore, this collateral incident with the UK Government exposes the rusty joints of the centralized system. As is expected, certain sectors are already seeing a rapid transition to blockchain technology for this very reason. The decentralized model increases the security of the network leaving episodes, such as that of the one reported by Bloomberg, to be unlikely to occur again.

Consider the Cudos network on the blockchain to be likened with keyless entry on your new car. It’s less prone to thievery and the added protection of personal authentication improves individuality, operability and user satisfaction — all with added conveniences sprinkled on top.

Cudos is making it their priority to provide this personalized security tool for the sake of ease of integration, heightened user experience and security, and will continue to do so into the future with additional utilities for its developer audience.

Cudos activity in the near future will demonstrate just how well-illustrated this intention will come into effect on the Cudos network. Stay posted to find out how and, as always, follow our social media channels for regular updates.

About Cudos

The Cudos Network is a layer 1 blockchain and layer 2 computation and oracle network being designed to ensure decentralized, permissionless access to high-performance computing at scale and enable scaling of computing resources to 100,000’s of nodes. Once bridged onto Ethereum, Algorand, Polkadot, and Cosmos, Cudos will enable scalable compute and Layer 2 Oracles on all of the bridged blockchains.
