Senses, not sensors
It’s not a camera, it’s an eye.
It’s not a microphone, it’s an ear.
It’s not a speaker, it’s a mouth.
Our mobile devices can see, hear and speak. Don’t think of them as having sensors, but instead senses — inputs and outputs that create a deep awareness of the world around us. These devices are capable robots in our hands, awaiting the software updates to upgrade awareness into contextual understanding.
As we shift our thinking, new products and systems will emerge that change the way we perceive and navigate the world. I can’t think of anything more exciting to work on than that.
