Physics Can Ruin Worldbuilding

Yes, even in hard sci-fi.

I find physics, and probably science in general, to be uninspiring. I never invested the time to develop a head for the math. And I am generally more interested in if something works, not why. It probably isn’t a surprise then that I really have no qualms about abandoning real-world science if it helps me create something fun.
