Cultivian Sandbox Ventures is a venture capital firm that invests in innovative startups focused on the food & agriculture industry. Founded by experienced operators from some of the world’s preeminent food and agriculture companies, and backed by leading Strategic LP’s, the firm seeks to support and bring to market the companies that will drive the world’s food system toward greater sustainability, security and safety. To do this, we invest across the full value chain of food & agriculture, from crop production to supply chain and food products and distribution.
We’re looking for candidates to fill 2 different roles:
- Full-time Associate: CSBX Associates are responsible for supporting the team in all aspects of fund operations, including industry analysis, sourcing, investment due diligence, financial modeling, portfolio company support, and LP relationship management. We’re looking for candidates that are early in their career (~1–3 years of experience).
- Summer MBA Associate: Summer Associates are typically between their first and second year in an MBA program. They’re responsible for developing investment theses, investment due diligence, sourcing investment opportunities, and portfolio company support. (We’ve stopped accepting applications for this position as of 3/4/21.)
The Candidates We’re Searching For:
Our team operates in an open, thoughtful and collaborative way. We’re seeking individuals who are self-starters, detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and have a demonstrated interest and passion for technology, startups and entrepreneurship. Ideal candidates will have experience with financial analysis (e.g. consulting, marketing, strategy, investment banking, PE or VC), and preferably experience in the food, agriculture and/or technology industry.
Skills Expected of the Candidate:
- Strong communication (oral and written) and presentation skills
- Adept with data and financial analysis
- Strong relationship building skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Ability to prioritize and manage several initiatives at one time
- Capable of performing at a high level in a fast-paced environment with dynamic responsibilities
