Us and the Liminal

Our new mission has already started !

We are a five-member team ( Dionysia Boziki, Narine Gasparova, Kleopatra Tsoli, Dimitris Balios, Stefania — Antonia Patakiouti ) that studies in the department of Communication, Media and Culture at Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences in Athens, Greece.This year , we have the opportunity to attend the course ‘’ Cultural & Creative Entrepreneurship’’ by professor Lida Tsene.

The first step of this course includes to decide in which ‘’Creative Industry’’ we desire to actuate as a team in order to provide our help in a real-life problem situation. Thus, after the discussion we had between us and based on our interests, we decided to be a part of a cultural organization.

After that, Mrs Tsene informed us that we are going to work with the ‘’Liminal’’ Organization by Christos Papamichael.

Liminal is a social and cultural enterprise for accessible theater. Its aim is the possibility of everyone ( the disabled, people who talk english, drama school students, artists and the audience) to come into contact with the contemporaneous greek reality in the theatrical area. As the director Christos Papamichael highlighted via our skype meeting, the fundamental vision is to render this area more democratic, appropriate and sustainable demanding the right of the freedom of expression and the equal access to culture. Liminal has already realized performances and acts upon the design of some laboratories and educational programmes .

During our Skype meeting with Mr. Papamichael, we discussed all these above in order to understand and make clear our partnership. We asked him how this initiative appeared in his mind and answered something really heartwarming; he was a person that did not have access to his passion -the art -when he was younger. He has already experienced this disappointing situation, he has changed as a person and now he has determined to alter the society too. And of course, his useful tool is Liminal. Finally, we talked about the problems of the organization and in the limits of our collaboration, he assigned us to start with the arrangement of a “market recearch” in which we study the way other cultural entrepreneus act in this certain field.

Now , as a team , our challenge is to be the fellow travellers of Mr. Papamichael and contribute, as effectively as we can, to the development of our society!!
