Field Dogs: An Endangered Species

When I first started doing archaeology, the field dog was already a fairly rare sight. What is a field dog? A dog that accompanies its owner to do fieldwork.

They frolic in the fields and wide open spaces, providing a mascot for the crew, protecting their owner’s screen from being stepped on by cows and other miscreant livestock.

I have to say, I think their disapperance is a good thing.
