June’s San Francisco Dinner
What constitutes a culture of courage? How important is belonging and one’s authenticity? Is there really an ROI in bringing one’s authentic self to the workplace?
If investors are really assessing culture before investing, what metrics are they using to differentiate good from great from bad? We ended talking about the weaponization of data.
Just a few of the topics from the June Culturati Connect event we held in San Francisco. Rajkumari Neogy organized the dinner for us, inviting 9 leaders, CEOs, CHROs and diversity & inclusion officers. They represented companies including Atlassian, Uber, Facebook, Salesforce, Workday, OmniSci, Ginsatec, and Autodesk. Leaders from these companies shared perspectives, war stories and success recipes for culture building.
Rajkumari, an executive coach and my favorite go-to person on neurobiology’s application in the workplace, identifies, shares and executes the latest neuroscience research to optimize team performance. She was a favorite presenter at last year’s Culturati Summit and the fondness is reciprocated:
Culture conferences have taken the conference platform by storm. And I have certainly attended my share in my short conference attendee life. Culture, for me, is the alignment of values, i.e., “We don’t just talk about it, we also act like it.” Culturati is the culture conference you want to prioritize.
Culturati does something different than other culture conferences…they stand behind their values in ways that are simply unparalleled. IMHO, conferences are designed for promotion and branding; Culturati provides a venue for transformation, not just inspiration, data points and listicles — Rajkumari Neogy
Culturati Connect represents our one-off events in Austin and across the country where we host executives for presentations and/or discussions on the pain points and best practices of effective culture building.
We held Culturati Connect San Francisco on June 26 and Columbus, Ohio on May 30. Houston is scheduled for September 9, Toronto for Oct 22. New York, Traverse City and Dallas are in planning.
The next Culturati Connect event will take place in Austin on July 29 — a reception, book reading and signing by Stedman Graham. The Lenovo Foundation, Microsoft, Adisa Communication and Capital Factory are sponsoring the event. Prof. Steven Tomlinson will interview Mr. Graham.
