There’s been a ton of amazing festivals that have taken place all over New England this summer with plenty of live music and visual art being exhibited. Each one has had something different to offer to set itself apart from the rest, and this particular trend is going to be continuing for the next few weeks. An impending example of this is the Warren Folks Festival, which takes places on 30 Cutler Street within the beautiful and weird town located in Rhode Island’s East Bay. The eighth edition of the festival is happening on August 17 from 1–7pm with an array of bands and musicians performing on two stages. There’s going to be local artists and vendors setting up shop throughout the premises along with plenty of food and drink to go around.

This unique event is organized and presented by The Collaborative, which is a nonprofit located on 4 Market Street whose mission is to enable opportunities for people around the area to get involved in the arts. While being a vibrant gettogether, the Warren Folks Festival also functions as a benefit for the organization via a beer garden sponsored by Narragansett Beer.

“Warren Folks Fest stays true to its roots. It started as a free party for the community, and it will always be a free party for the community,” explains Sally Turner, who is The Collaborative’s Executive Director. “We come together to celebrate local creatives including musicians, poets, artists and food and beverage makers. We have fun alongside the individuals and families who join us. We welcome people to revel in all that our collective home of Warren has to offer.”

On the Main Stage, singer-songwriter Shane Fitzgerald, indie rockers Kench, alt-rock act Free Beer The Band, hip hop artist Ego Sol and rock & roll legend King Sickabilly will be performing. Over on the second stage, there’s going to be more music courtesy of rock phenoms the David Tessier All-Star Stars, psycho-lectric trio Droplets, folk-rock act The Glare and ghost folk singer-songwriter Allysen Callery. There’s an afterparty happening afterwards at the Galactic Theatre on 440 Main Street, so make sure to stick around. In the meantime, considering heading on over to Warren this Saturday for what should be an absolute blast.
