2023 was a pretty disruptive year, wasn’t it? It seems like literally everyone I know had at least one unfortunate occurrence happen to them over the past 12 months. At the same time, there have been some positives as well, but they came about in weird ways. That was my experience at least, but whether this year treated you well or it could have treated you better, New Year’s Eve is the perfect time to go out and enjoy a fun evening. With this being said, there are plenty of festive events happening all over Providence on the night of December 31. To be in the know, here are five things going on that nobody should miss out on.
Soul Power @ Dusk

Usually taking place on the second Friday night of each month, Soul Power hosted by DJ’s Ty Jesso and John O’Leary is the best dance party in the city. If you dig Motown, old school R&B, garage rock and the music of the ’60s British invasion, then you got to come down to Dusk for this special New Year’s Eve edition. The recent news of the venue’s location on 301 Harris Avenue closing down at the end of January is a total bummer, but I know that if you show up there’s going to be a whole lot of love and positivity.
