Interview: Melt Cast Their Soulful Sound All Over New England
New York City indie-soul act Melt are going to be playing a few local gigs over the next few days. On July 6, they’re going to be headlining the Ocean Mist in Matunuck, Rhode Island. On the following day, they’re going to be doing their thing on the Stoke Stage at the Levitate Music & Arts Festival in Marshfield, Massachusetts at 3pm. Then to close out the three-day run, they’re going to be playing the Rowayton Summer Concert Series in Rowayton, Connecticut. The talented quintet of lead vocalist Veronica Stewart-Frommer, vocalist and keyboardist Eric Gabriel, guitarist Marlo Shankweiler, bassist Lucas Saur and trombonist Nick Sare are no strangers to making their presence felt around these parts. With this fact being apparent, their fan base steadily grows with each time they bring their groovy tunes to a captive audience.
Stewart-Frommer and I had a talk ahead of the upcoming shows about achieving early success, considering New England to be a second home, being part of Levitate this year and new music that’s on the way.
