Preview: Steve Hackett Shows That It’s Not Just an Outdated Dance

A lot of folks know about Genesis via their radio dominance in the ’80s and perhaps have a fleeting knowledge that Peter Gabriel was in the band, but true heads know that the Steve Hackett era is where they leaned in really hard to their prog-rock strengths. Foxtrot is the second record after Hackett joined and features the sprawling epic “Supper’s Ready” that took up the entire second side of the LP.
Hackett will be playing other selections from his stint with the band as well, and as a veteran who caught his performance of Wind and Wuthering, there is no doubt a tight band and memorable experiences await the ticket holders at The Wilbur in Boston on October 12 and at The Strand Ballroom & Theatre in Providence on October 17.
