Summertime and barbeques go together like peanut butter and jelly, you really can’t have one without the other. When combined, they usually provide a festive and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. On August 3 & 4, this is what’s going to be happening at Pump House Music Works located on 1464 Kingstown Road in the Rhode Island village of Wakefield. It garners the title of “The Jazz & Blues Barbeque” with the first installment starting at 4pm and the following one beginning at 5pm. Along with the assortment of music, there’s also going to be free burgers, hot dogs and chicken from 5–7pm on both days along with plenty of refreshments available for purchase.

On Saturday, the lineup is going to be the Tish Adams Quartet, the Duke Robillard Trio and Dan Moretti & The Hammond Boys with Sonya Rae Taylor as a special guest vocalist. For the following day, David Furlong from at The Honk, the Leland Brown Quintet and the Shawnn Montiero Quartet will be closing things out.

“It’s my idea and I put the program together for both days, call me crazy”, Moretti says about the event. “We’re going to be throwing a fun weekend with some of the area’s top jazz, blues and soul.”

For more info regarding tickets and other specifics, check out Pump House Music Works’ calendar on their website right here. If you’re in South County and you’re looking to have some fun this weekend, make sure to stop by and enjoy some fantastic music with some food and drink.
