Richard Nelson’s Alaska

I’m back thinking of things ecophilosophical again, after a fallow deer let me make food of her. (I also plan to try to turn her hide into a drum.)

More of my thoughts will be coming along soon, but in the meantime I just wanted to share a video I found. Featuring Richard Nelson, this an episode of a TV series made by the US public broadcaster KRCB-TV, called Natural Heroes.

As I mentioned in my previous article, Richard Nelson’s way of viewing nature and our place within it resonates strongly with my own ecological worldview. In the video below, he touches upon the ecological understanding of nature, animism and the importance of ethics in environmental decision-making.

Enjoy.
