MarketGoo is hiring a product designer

At MarketoGoo we are hiring a mid-level product designer to help us translate our vision and technology into a user-friendly experience for our customers. You will spend your first month working with the team of mendesaltaren that will help defining the next steps of our product and learn from their methodology to later join our team. You’ll be working closely with product management and other team members to bring solutions to life. This means closing the gap from UX to designing the interaction experience and visual proposal for our development team to be implemented.

We are looking for candidates with an eye for understanding, a solution and innovation-oriented methodology, an always pushing attitude, an autonomous mind, care for design and details and a deep knowledge of a full product design cycle. The role includes understanding how to make complex things simple and to provide effective tools on top of a robust platform. We are looking for an experienced candidate who’s faced similar challenges.

At MarketGoo we build software that simplifies SEO, we have tens of thousands of customers and partners all over the world with English spoken markets as our main target. We aim to build something great, we don’t have VCs and we are profitable so we can do things with time and affection.

About the job

During your first month, you will be working hand in hand with the team of mendesaltaren to define the basis of our next steps in product design. You will be learning methodologies, processes and complementing your knowledge in order to bring the latest learnings on product design to MarketGoo.

As a key part of the team, you’ll work directly with the product manager to understand the goals and problems, plan experiments and define the scope. We expect you to lead the design phase and user testing. Finally, you’ll support the development team building the solution and will go back with the product team to measure results. Eventually you’ll lead design within the team, being free to propose and implement processes, tools…

We follow a lean methodology so we prioritize action, formulating a hypothesis, launching experiments and measuring results.

Some examples of projects you might work on:

1. Translate the SEO product vision into a user friendly experience. Design the final UX and UI.
2. Help product management to increase retention all across the portfolio.
3. Design sitemap flows and requirements for a freemium test model.
4. Gather user insights to lead product improvements.
5. Audit the current product to propose a design system project.

What we need

• Professional experience in product design UX/UI. This means you are comfortable understanding problems in-depth, not just designing a visually nice first solution.
• A selection of your work. It can be a portfolio, case studies, medium articles, etc.
• We are looking for Managers of One. We need you to be autonomous, executive and get things done without continuous direction.
• We need a great communicator so remote cooperation works smoothly. We want you to express your ideas with assertiveness and confidence.
• Experience in SaaS industry, SEO knowledge and English proficiency are considered.
• We believe in remote work but in the beginning we expect you to live in Madrid, it’s key to spend time face to face at start.
• We need you to be proficient in current design tools and stay up to date with all the new ones that come to market.

Pay and benefits

• We are offering a range of 27k — 33k, depending on your experience. Our aspiration is to grow the business together to reach 20% + market salary for any position.
• Also, after two years in the team you get to participate in our profit sharing program included on top of your salary.
• 2k for a computer of your choice, and an ongoing budget for equipment like screens, keyboards, etc…
• Team assistant. We have a person taking care of the team. Do you need to setup an appointment, buy your children’s books for school or make a restaurant reservation? Just ask our assistant for it.
• We believe in wisdom growth. We will also support you with both professional and personal growth and have resources for helping you to keep learning and designing your lifestyle.
• We expect you to live in Madrid in the beginning with remote flexibility. No timetables.
• We have a strong relationship, we are here for the long term. Our business is sustainable and independent from funding.
• We like to promote personal care and wellbeing. We have a monthly stipend for fitness and sports activities.
